Methode Fibre Optics Europe (MFOE) is Europe’s leading specialist manufacturer of fibre optic cable assemblies, cable management systems and associated cable accessory products.

MFOE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Methode Electronics Inc. based in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Methode Electronics, Inc. is a global manufacturer of component and subsystem devices. The company designs, manufactures and markets devices employing electrical, electronic, wireless, sensing and optical technologies. Methodes components are found in the primary end markets of the automotive, communications (including information processing and data storage, networking equipment, wireless and terrestrial voice/data systems), aerospace, rail and other transportation industries; and the consumer and industrial equipment markets.

MFOE is responsible for servicing the fibre optic markets in northern and Western Europe. We have two European manufacturing bases (in the UK and Czech Republic). Customers are supported by a network of European distributors (see distribution) and a sales office in Germany.

We offer a comprehensive range of passive fibre optic components, cable assemblies, cable management systems and associated accessories including our Meth-Net pre-terminated fibre transport system.

Our UK facility currently terminates in excess of 60,000 connectors per month with approximately 50% of our products exported to northern and western Europe. Our range is one of the broadest available from any one manufacturer it includes the more traditional connector styles like FSMA, FDDI, ST, FC, SC, ES’CON, DIN and E2000 through to the very latest in Small Form Factor (SFF) connector technologies. Our SFF range includes LC, MU, MT-RJ and more recently ribbon fibre connector technologies using MP and MT ferruled connectors.

The UK facility has in excess of 15000 sq. ft of manufacturing space and currently employs 120 people.

MFOE enjoys success in a variety of markets including Data Centre, SAN, LAN, WAN, Telecom and Utilities. All terminations are 100% tested, inspected and certified maintaining full tractability in line with our ISO 9002 accreditation. We also operate a continuous FMEA (Failure Mode/Effect Analysis) program. All products carry a 15-year warranty program as standard.

The MFOE Company focus is to meet rapid turnaround requirements as well as long term scheduled STS (Ship to Stock) supply contracts and to provide efficient solutions for individual customer needs. A ‘Continuously Enhanced Process Engineering’ program complements an aggressive ‘New Product Development’ program.

MFOE has been trading for 13 years and in that time has established itself as a preferred supplier to many prestige companies including IBM, British Telecom, Cable & Wireless, Marconi, Hitachi, Fujitsu, EMC2 and Lucent.
